First have announced timetable changes to the western X1 service which will mainly affect early morning and evening buses.
These changes include a small number of peak time journeys which have been cancelled or retimed, and one new Mon-Fri journey from Dereham at 0740 to Norwich at 0825 which will travel fast via the A47, omitting Easton but not Hockering. I assume this new journey will be operated by Norwich depot with a regular Norwich service bus.
In other news, and with thanks to a regular contributor for sending in this photograph, expected imminently is the arrival of a Wright Streetdeck on loan from Bristol depot for evaluation on the X1. The bus is to spend time at King's Lynn depot for trial and mechanical evaluation on the western half of the X1, before transferring to Lowestoft or Great Yarmouth until the early summer for use on the eastern section. Thanks to engineering staff at First's Roundtree Way depot on Wednesday for this information. The bus has not yet seen service, so wears an X1 logo on top of smart livery which is now used on flagship services around the country. When it returns to Bristol, I assume it will gain branding for the 'Mendip Xplorer' service on which examples of the type already operate.
